I did a bit of writing after work (Chapter 9 is nearly done in draft, those who are waiting) and then phoned Snaked to say I was on my way home. By the time I got to the street, I was feeling so odd that I decided to take a taxi home--and if you know what a cheapstake I am, that is a significant sign of distress.

I arrived home ten minutes later dizzy and nauseous. I fell into bed without touching the delicious dinner Snake had made. My stomach was jumping and I had diarrhea on and off for hours. My muscles all started aching, especially the usual culprits: the hands, quads and feet.

The aching was so unrelenting that I couldn't sleep more than 10 minutes at a time without needing to flex and turn over. Snake was stirring every time I did, so I went down to the couch at 1:30 a.m. and tried to sleep again. I finally got up at 3:00 and went to the computer for two hours. When I crawled back to the couch at 5:00, I was able to sleep again and I did so until 6:30 when I helped Snake get off to work. I crawled back into bed and just got up.

What the fuck! You're minding your business out on the beach and in rolls a tsunami!

Intestinal bugs come on very suddenly like that. I hope it leaves just as quickly.

I hope you have lots of Gatorade or something similar around.

Snake has his own magic electrolyte formula which he feeds me! I'm still tired, but my stomach feels settled. Thanks!

Oh no! I hope you get better soon. I got sick like that once on a holiday in Turkey and I thought I was going to die.
I'm glad chapter 9 is coming along though ;)

Definitely on the mend now. When were you in Turkey? We were there last May.

Oh, that was ages ago. Like, ten years. Actually the only thing I can remember about the whole trip is how rotten I felt. It's great to hear that you are well again!

That GI stuff can make you so violently ill! It's usually pretty short-lived, though. The important thing is to stay hydrated (which I'm sure you know, having a doctor for a father, too). Feel better soon!

I'm assuming it's natural and Snake hasn't any reason to take a lesson from the women in Nagyrev...

AHHHHH! Did I tell you that Snake shares a family name with the first victim?

I'm doing much better already. Thanks.

Oh I meant to add - if you are in need of an additional beta for chapter 9, I'm back in business. No hard feelings if you've got enough betas...

The more betas the merrier! Yay! KD warned me she might be too busy, so maybe this is great timing.

As both fanfic mothers above noted, GI bugs come violently and leave quickly. I'm tired, but much much steadier already. Thanks.

That seems to be going around. Others on my f-list have had the same thing recently.

Sounds like Norwalk. Take it easy and the storm should blow through. Be well.
