Holy Humbling!
Feb. 2nd, 2007 11:05 amI did a bit of writing after work (Chapter 9 is nearly done in draft, those who are waiting) and then phoned Snaked to say I was on my way home. By the time I got to the street, I was feeling so odd that I decided to take a taxi home--and if you know what a cheapstake I am, that is a significant sign of distress.
I arrived home ten minutes later dizzy and nauseous. I fell into bed without touching the delicious dinner Snake had made. My stomach was jumping and I had diarrhea on and off for hours. My muscles all started aching, especially the usual culprits: the hands, quads and feet.
The aching was so unrelenting that I couldn't sleep more than 10 minutes at a time without needing to flex and turn over. Snake was stirring every time I did, so I went down to the couch at 1:30 a.m. and tried to sleep again. I finally got up at 3:00 and went to the computer for two hours. When I crawled back to the couch at 5:00, I was able to sleep again and I did so until 6:30 when I helped Snake get off to work. I crawled back into bed and just got up.
What the fuck! You're minding your business out on the beach and in rolls a tsunami!
