Demons on Holiday

talktoolooseCan someone explain to me why everyone hated the movie "Constantine"? I thought it was just spiffing. I suspect it had something to do with people being sick of Keanu post-Matrix. Frankly, he was fine, but Tilda Swinton as the angel Gabriel and Peter Stormare as Satan stole the show.
Catholicism is so good as a backdrop for action horror! Way to go, Vatican!
In other news, we're on vacation three of the next five weeks. A week in the New York City area coming up in a few days and then two weeks in Portugal at the end of August. We had planned a New England and Prince Edward Island car trip with the dog, but the weather is so bloody unstable this summer that we don't want to chance it. With the dog in toe, it's camping and hiking and that's it. If it keeps raining 2 out of 3 days (and hurricane season on the Atlantic is just arriving), then the trip would be a wash-out.
So we just found a not-terrible fare to Portugal and booked it. Should be beautiful and interesting.
