For those of you bemoaning their missing the hidden scene at the end of the X3 credits, here it is:

Remember the video in Charles' ethics class? We see Moira McTaggart showing off a braindead individual in a bed. Charles pauses the video and asks about the ethical implications of someone else (say a telepath) using that empty shell of a body for his/her consciousness. Now, remember Charles comforting smile before he blows up? Good.

Credits end. Scene shifts to the same hospital room. Dr. McTaggart stands over the braindead patient who suddenly stirs. We hear Charles voice say, "Hello, Moira."

Black.

Question: did anyone else see the chess piece move under Magneto's power at the end or just [livejournal.com profile] appelle?

Did anyone else notice that when the 20th Century Fox logo faded at the beginning that the 'X' lingered longer, or just ME?

the chess piece did twitch briefly.

the X in the 20th century fox logo lingered in the first movie, maybe the second too. i looked for it to do the same in this one, but i didn't see it!

Wow, I'm dumb. I'd forgotten all about the ethics class thought experiment thing by the end of the movie. That final scene makes more sense now.

I did see the chess piece move.

It would be kinda funny if it were just Jean messing with his emotions from beyond the grave, though.

Yeah, the chess piece moving was a good note to end on, at least.

Everyone noticed the chess piece move.

I wasn't paying attention to the logo.

I don't know why they're setting up a movie that's not supposed to have a sequal for a sequal.. Especially when there's no way in hell they're going to get the young talent back.. I doubt bery seriously Anna Paquin will even think about doing one of these films again.

Theatre staff sepcifically told us to stay until after the credits - which were incredibly LONG!

So I definately heard Charles voice say "to go where noone has done before" - sorry! :)

And yes the chess piece did move. Probably because the anti-mutant serum capsules which they injected Magneto (sp?) with were no longer functional or full enough of serum to have more of a temporary effect.

I took me a while to figure out what that was about until 20 min later when I remembered the same ethics video you mention. I didn't catch Charles grimace before he exploded as a grimace.

This was a much better X men movie than the other two I have seen. The audience laughed derisively at the moving of the bridge but I thought it was pretty cool.

The set up is prob more for the video gaming market than for any movie sequel. But if they do a new movie, it won't be Patrick Stewart because there will be a new body and therefore, new actor :)
