codystrum has written a very interesting
comment about the cultural contexts of the Japanese entertainment I was metioning in
this post. He lived in Tokyo for three years and was very affected by his time there. I love the songs that period inspired in him. It would be great if you all got to hear them some time. Maybe when I have my new web-hosting set up, I'll put them online with his kind permission.
Now I understand what
karenkay was referring to when she mentioned "the nail that stands up gets beat down".

Date: 2005-03-12 10:36 am (UTC)Thanks very much for the good word. Yes, Japan inspired me incredibly. Still does.
I myself do have a website called Cody Radio, which I recently moved to paid status in order to put up 50Mb worth of tunes, which has one of those tunes called Hikikomori on it. I can adverstise the link here if you wish.
More to be posted soon as I rerecord them, or repost the decent records I may have of CulDeSac, Polluted, and Siguro. I don't know of any others from that period actually....But if you want to put a couple up on your site as well, I'd be more than honoured.
Hugs,
Cody
