From the Sidelines
Jun. 11th, 2004 08:54 amHmm, my Phoenix LJ client can't connect to LJ. Odd; so I'm updating from LJ itself.
And boy! I have nothing say. I'm drawing, drawing and laying laying out the Passover book. I hope to have all the illustrations finished up in a few days so I can get approval on them, make whatever corrections I have to and move into the final stages of colouring and layout to get on press by mid-July.
I'm trying to stay in a positive space, but I keep anticipating more stupidity from the publisher who loves to show everything to everyone at her company, all of whom seem to be in equal parts clueless and opinionated. I may have to throw a fit or two. Still, I should be careful. While I don't mind burning bridges with these fools, I don't want them to invoke clauses in the contract allowing them to take possession of all my work and change it as they see fit for the good of sales. Ow, now my stomach hurts. See?! Staying in a positive space is a better idea!
Gougou goes for his last shots this morning. He's such a big, beautiful boy now. I'll post more pics later. Okay, okay, simmer down. Here's one now:

Date: 2004-06-11 11:01 am (UTC)I hate not not be able to read my friends' posts all the time. I didn't know you were doing a Passover book. Like a haggadah? Or just a book about passover? Tell me!

Date: 2004-06-11 12:09 pm (UTC)We pitched it when the WTC was still standing and finally got serious last summer. Then it lay fallow for months and now it's in high gear, leading up to publishing this summer.
I've just finished pencilling Moses leading the folks across the Red Sea while, overhead, spectres of contemporary and future enemies of the Jews loom menacingly. My Roman soldier rocks, but my Egyptian and my inquisition priest need work.
Meanwhile little puppy sleeps off his rabies shot. Holy shit! He clocked in at 33lbs.! He was about 11 pounds when we got him in March.
