The Fringes of Sanity
Jan. 31st, 2003 04:00 pmSo, I made a promise to myself to apply to the Toronto Fringe Festival of Theatre. I want to get up onstage this July and perform my songs in a revue setting, including readings of some bizarre and edgy spoken word pieces by friends including
snowmit.
Deadline: Today at 6 p.m.
Started the application proceess: Today 12 p.m.
Conflicted, ya think? I didn't sleep last night and I've been a nervous wreck all day. I finally sealed the envelope and biked the application over. It's in.
Acceptance is entirely by lottery, so I asked what the odds were. 1 in 5. I went from terrified I'd get in to devasted I wouldn't in about three seconds.
*sigh*
Nothing to do but wait for February 10 when the lottery happens. Actually, there is one thing to do: I have to decide what I'm going to do if I don't get in. The Fringe is a really convenient way to get onstage and get some attention. What's my backup plan?
