talktoolooseWell, dang, I don't post often and I really miss LJ and do not want to contribute to its demise.
Dang! I hate fucking Facebook. I've been playing there a bit lately and it is a further symptom of everything that is wrong in the world. In Facebook, you and your friends zoom around each other's heads like mosquitoes, landing only long enough to draw just enough blood to barely sustain friendship at a comatose level.
My life constricted terribly when the reno started in May (or February, really, if you include planning and buying). I have been determined not to let my writing slow down and family has made many demands. As a result, LJ went. Facebook is supposed to be a better option because it's for people in a rush, rush, rush But really, if the writing isn't at least a few paragraphs long, it is mostly a waste of time.
I desperately need some time away from Toronto on my own. I have two more vacation weeks left in 2009 and I can't really take them back to back; so that's two one-week vacations. Where should I go? New York is obvious and easy, but I have weird bug in my head about going to New Mexico. I wonder if I could find a cheap flight? Or Seattle? Meet a few of my friends there?
Maybe I'll post-spam for a while. So much to say.

Date: 2009-10-20 02:53 pm (UTC)Facebook is generally dead to me, I find better ways of communicating with friends through more specialized tools. Twitter for quick thoughts and interesting links, LJ for longer thoughts, Google Reader with a bunch of people who want to talk about articles.
I've been lately really appreciating the LiveJournal mode and so will be happy to see you posting here more.
