With the rhyming or "trendy" and "candy", I'm guessing Russian or something Eastern European. It took B almost 15 years of living in Canada before he could stop concentrating on that vowel distinction.
(And he would point out at this juncture that Hungary is CENTRAL European, not Eastern).
Also, "A Man That Looks Like Candy" is an awesome title for a book, I'm thinking.
