This is what we're doing to the gable of our house (the following is a Photoshop mockup):



Homo Depot recommended a special primer for the red triangle with some red base already in it. Otherwise, they claimed, it's hard to cover up the white and you need more coats.

So, we were up painting primer before the sun hit that section and will do the final coat before sunset tonight. But that means that for the whole of the day we have a BIG PINK TRIANGLE ON OUR HOUSE!!!

Shout it loud!
