The following is an unpaid endorsement:

As an Apple Mac user for 15 years, I have always been impressed with them as creators of OS's and fine design. However, anytime they are in the business of being a channel for the entertainment, they piss me off.

One of things I hate is they sort of expect you to throw out our iPod after a couple of years. That's why the batteries are so poor to begin with and so hard and expensive to replace.

Well, I replaced Snake's iPod battery myself with the help of ipodjuice.com and the whole experience was quite painless and completely successful. If busting open your box and manipulating little electronics pieces worries you, don't do it. Otherwise, no sweat, half the cost of Apple doing it, and a better battery for your iPod.

And less landfill.

Um, I think repairing an iPod doesn't exactly make me a hero of the revolution, but it's, uh, something.

:-P

I know. I'm just being idiotic for some sad self-entertainment.

I seem to have uncanny good luck with iPod batteries.
