Not looking so good...

A real estate agent was here last night to look at our house and see what we could get for it. She smiled politely at my suggestion that our house was equivalent to the one down the street that sold for $400,000 last month and then listed the reasons why that one was way more desireable. We'll get her estimate tomorrow.

I asked her if she could suggest things to watch out for when buying a new townhouse and she told us that new houses are subject to the Goods and Service Tax of 7%. In other words, the price of the townhouse just shot up by $28,000.

Looking dubious...

P.S. Note to redrunner: Beware the expression "made it". The only place we all make it to is the grave.

Hmm, good point. Perhaps "made it" isn't the right word. Amend it with "achieved financial security and independence for a possibly brief period of time." (See, Snowmit.) I have yet to hit that without parental aid, but when I do, fireworks and parties!
