Yesterday was Snake and my 19th anniversary. We use the date we met because that seems more significant that any other we can think of. He moved in with me only a couple of months later.

Unfortunately, there were no snuggles and hugs on the big day because he's in Hungary visiting friends and family. He left on Tuesday for three weeks and I am in withdrawal! The worst thing is getting into bed at night. I delay it as long as possible so as not to face that absence.

So, love to my brilliant, logical, maddening, generous, resentful, handsome, furious, sweet, analytical, enthusiastic baby. I'll try to keep the house from falling down in your absence.

(P.S. I still might push a little to have us marry for our 20th... an idea he's not so into. heh.)

Awww. That is really wonderful. Snake is a good guy and you, of course, are fabulous. Sorry you didn't get to to spend the big day with him. Get extra snuggles when he returns!

The snark in me also suggests that this would be a PERFECT time to go online and find one of those communities where people bitch about how "every guy I meet is a flake" and "gay relationships don't last" and post something like "I KNOW! We've been together NINETEEN YEARS and we feel SO TENUOUS!" ;-)

Ahhhhh, to share one's life with someone with whom the compatibilities are so lasting. A fellow I met at a gathering last week says, "I don't fall in love with the person so much as with who I become when I'm with them." I like this criterion. You & the mad hungarian give me hope, gnadige. Hey my household is having a party on 29June. You & yours interested in attending?

Congratulations! 19 years is a wonderful stretch! If you marry on your 20th, I'm SO there! :) i love the fact that you lovely Canadians can marry (a friend in Vancouver is planning her wedding for next summer to her girlfriend), but it breaks my heart that I can't marry here unless i move to Massachusetts and become a resident there, and even then no other state with see it as a legal, binding marriage. :_( Here in Wisconsin, they've gone to far as to make it constitutionally illegal for anything but marriage between one man and one women to count as marriage. The US sucks.
