Butch Saturday
Nov. 25th, 2006 05:12 pmWe celebrated the unseasonably mild weather by finally putting the wood up in the gable of the house. We've had the $50 piece of fancy plywood for months now. But today, we measured and cut and hauled it up ladders and back down again for more cuts and back up to finally install it. Tomorrow I'll fill the gaps and screwholes with exterior wood filler and add some trim. Then it can sit until Spring when we'll paint it and put up the pièce de resistance... the medieval-inspired sun with it's double-sided face in light and dark.
That gives us four months to argue about what colour we'll paint the woodwork.
Now I'm tired. I sent almost 11,000 words of Days of Becoming Chapter 7 to the beta-readers yesterday so I'm piling up accomplishment this weekend. Feels good.
Off to rest before dinner.
