I Didn't Sign Up!

I didn't sign up for the "Life Lessons: Pain" course this semester! So how come I have to do all the homework?

My knee is finally really improving and now I'm dealing with this elbow shit -- learning its parameters and how to make it better -- but it still hurts. Then my left mid-back goes *sproing* while I'm in the middle of shaving this morning for no good reason.

And now I just gave myself a second degree burn with steam from the kettle here at work. Motherfucking Shit-on-a-stick!

If I'm suppose to be learning stoicism, I'm definitely receiving a failing grade.

I punched the corridor wall as I walked to the printer and heard a picture fall off the wall in the boardroom on the other side. This amused me wryly.

Downer Machine

To my friends whom I have been using as a dumping ground. I am sorry.

Here's something good:

The cycle of [neurotic overacheiving followed by guilt that I wasn't doing more] which characterized my life for months came to a halt with the forced slow down of my post-surgical recuperation. I learned the joys of doing nothing (or at least less) and I'm not going to give that up without a fight.

New York Itinerary in Development

Arrive Thursday March 23, 2 pm
- kill time downtown but what will I do with my bags? I guess I could go to a museum and check them while I wander.
- eat dinner somewhere. Maybe that place allourapus is always suggesting. It's in an old LJ entry somewhere...
- meet my sister at the theatre to see Sweeney Todd (Crap! I'm excited)
- go back to Long Island with her

Friday
- I dunno. Probably MOMA for part of the day since I haven't seen the new building and wandering for the rest of it.
- Shabbas dinner with my sister's family

Saturday
- Brunch with mofic whom I am really looking forward to meeting.
- the rest of the day is a fat question mark. Any suggestions?

Sunday
- My cousin's 80th birthday party in the afternoon. Hanging with family the rest of the day probably. See how many free meals I can get out of it (lol, I still think like the baby of the family!)

Monday
- flight at 3. Might just hang with sister in the morning unless she's teaching. Again, if it weren't for the bags question, I could go into town early and wander more (my fave Manhattan activity).

The solution seems to be to pack incredibly light.
