Wind in My Sails
Oct. 3rd, 2003 01:22 pmI feel insanely weird. I'm completely exhausted and running on fumes but I'm calm, confident, full of hope. Wow.
The story meeting with
snowmit last night was spectacular. He understood what I was trying to do and gave me a lot of practical approaches to acheiving it. The world in which the comic takes place seemed somewhat forced and full of holes to me but he helped me patch some and gave me advice on how to mask the others. I actually believe I can do this. Maybe by early spring I'll launch the website and begin serializing the story with the goal of finishing and publishing a paperback book of the whole thing 12 to 18 months later.
Dream big, dream hard.
The election last night had predictable results: the Liberals now have a majority government in Ontario which is not as good as a Liberal minority with a strong NDP alliance that guides it leftward. But, I'm impressed that Toronto threw out all of the Tories from within its borders. The Mike Harris / Ernie Eves Conservatives have been the enemy of the city for the past eight years and the worst thing that has ever happened to us. May they rot the way their legacy has helped rot the core of my beloved hometown.
In other news, I'm halfway through my translation of J'arrive. Also, I'm afraid I will have to skip the Brother Love Canal show tonight because they won't hit the stage until 11:30 and I don't think I'll be able to stay upright past 10:00. I don't remember such an extended period of poor sleep in my life. I so want to unplug for a while. I have four days in Vermont coming up in a couple of weeks. That will help, I hope.
Speaking of Vermont, Mikey are you reading this? If so, unlurk and be welcome.
