Bowie mania continues:

The Bowie, Paris 1999 concert I downloaded is extraordinary. In addition to making me reconsider that year's "Hours" album, it is filled with a most remarkable assortment of rare Bowie gems played spectacularly. Surprises include Word on a Wing, Always Crashing in the Same Car, Drive in Saturday and I Can't Read.

Too bad about the haircut.

Also, saw him last night as Nicola Tesla in The Prestige which I really liked. It's the superior 19th century magician movie released on DVD this month. The binary cream of the crop.

Now I'm going to tear Chapter 10 of DOB to pieces and start again!

Oh god, was that when he was in his chin-length hair phase? That was gross!

After you mentioned him the other day, I went galavanting through some of YouTube's vids. If you haven't watched the one for I'm Afraid of Americans, you're missing out. It's hilarious to see the attractively morose Trent Reznor stalk our hero. Also, his musical production aesthetics + Bowie's voice = AUDIO SEX.

Did I tell you I saw the incredible Union Jack coat the last time I was at the Met? This is totally dorky, but I so want to make a Bowie plush, and put him in that fantastic short haircut and the to-die-for coat and then SQUEEZE IT FOR ETERNITY.

That is all.

Yeah, that is a good vid. He and Trent love each other *smooch* *smooch*. Big mutual admiration society.

Ohhh, you saw the Union jack coat. coolio. It's on the cover of Earthling as you probably know. I saw him wear it on TV on his 50th birthday concert. Mmm, I gave that video to Bonnie (who was a DB fan) so I don't suppose I'll get it back. Poor Bonnie.

Hey, I've been meaning to ask, did you ever listen to the Suzanne Vega stuff I burned you?

I know, the only thing the vid is missing is the part where Reznor tackles Bowie and HOTNESS THAT RIVALS THE SUN ensues. Mmmmmmm...

*blink*

What was I saying? Oh yes. The jacket was the beginning of a show dedicated to British fashion - everso appropriate :) Poor Bonnie, she was an incredible lady.

I have listened to some of it, indeed! The one with the voice track to Tom's Diner is frustrating for not including the radio version XD. Might have to listen more before I give any major preferences or conclusions.
