Badad Part 1
Feb. 20th, 2007 12:46 pmThere is quite an ad malfunction currently appearing on Toronto Transit.
First of all, the campaign for some debt management organization is badly conceived. One series is supposed to consist of a line of posters hung together in a space that say respectively, "MACARONI AND CHEESE" "MACARONI AND CHEESE" "MACARONI AND CHEESE" "MACARONI AND CHEESE" "STEAK AND LOBSTER". I'm assuming the message is similar to an "eat what you like" diet plan. To manage your debt, you don't have to abandon steak and lobster, but you can't have it every night. I guess that's what it means.
But! At Bloor-Yonge station, one stairwell just contains five posters that read MACARONI AND CHEESE and there is no payoff poster. Furthermore, the iconic words are rendered in bold white text on a forest green background which is perhaps the colour combination you would least associate with mac and cheese.
The whole thing comes across as a surreal environmental art installation. I rather like it.

Date: 2007-02-20 11:19 pm (UTC)How is Toronto between May 31 and June 5? I can get my hands on roundtrip tickets for a mear $193 right now and that's too awesome to pass up I think. Did you know that the trip between the two cities is a little over an horu in flight?

Date: 2007-02-21 11:33 pm (UTC)It's usually a beautiful time of year. Of course, with mysterious climate change effects being what they are, it will probably be a hurricane and a blizzard.

Date: 2007-02-27 10:22 pm (UTC)I'm going to look into skype once I get around to getting internet at home again. Sometime in the next month, possibly. Either skype or vonage again. The long distance/out of country phone charges on my cell phone are starting to get a bit outrageous.
