Gay Networking

My friend Daniel has been hosting monthly, intimate naked parties for about eight men. We sit around in the nude and make witty comments about art, politics and addicted celebrities over paté, cranberry-topped brie and fine wine... and then we have sex.
Then we wipe up and talk wittily again until all the food is gone. It's a wonderful group he gathers together; all very smart, funny, unpretentious and sensuous. This is a decidedly lovely example of the best of gay culture.
I had sex with a beautiful man who's PR firm was handling the mayoral election campaign for the candidate I want to win. This candidate sent out a ridiculous campaign kick-off package last week which did nothing to distinguish her from the field of career politicos and totally masked her strengths as a compassionate, brilliant person capable of moving a progressive agenda through City Hall without alienating everybody.
Anyway, I had been wondering how I should express my feelings to her and now I know -- have sex with the right PR guy! This is called gay networking.

All of my favourite parties read almost exactly like yours except that there's no sitting around naked, no sex, and no pate. So really they're nothing like your parties. I do like witty conversation, though. Need to figure out a way to have a regular event like that next year only with less gay sex.
This just feeds into my theory that all great groups of people come together for some focus that is ultimately unimportant to the central fact that really people just want an excuse to hang around each other.
