Having re-watched X2 while I was sick, I realize I am departing from canon in two minor points:

1. Hank McCoy appears on a talk-show as seen in the bar where Mystique waylays Erik's guard. Hank is not blue and furry and appears to be a biologist. To stay true to movieverse canon, one would have to assume that he became blue and furry between that date and X3 (which could be a good fic). But you would also have to account for his meteoric rise in government circles. I have chosen to make him blue and furry even pre-X1 and have him working his way through diplomatic circles.
   
2. Bobby tells Logan that he's been at the mansion "a couple of years". According to the chronology of Days of Becoming, he has only been at the mansion 15 months or so at that point.

My personal theory is that Hank was fine during X2, but the Cerebro wave advanced his mutation and caused him to turn blue. There was a chapter in the X2 novelization that hinted at it. Part of me always wanted to do a story about Hank breaking away from the X clan because of the Cerebro wave. It would parallel Ultimate X-Men where he does leave. Hmmm. If only I had the time.
