Carbon Neutral

talktoolooseOne of the real problems with our major economic model .... y'know, the one we run our countries by .... is that it doesn't take environmental degradation into account. That's why there is no economic incentive to reduce packaging or lower emissions.
This is, of course, madness, since the harm to the environment will come back to bite us in the ass sooner than we think and that will have economic consequences.
Climate Care is a cool organization with a nice website that allows you to offset your carbon output. They have cool calculators for travel, car, home, etc. and then they allow you to contribute to projects they have implemented to lower carbon output in the world.
Our company has made a commitment to carbon-neutral travel and are contributing to this charity for all our travel. When I ran our Turkey trip through the flight calculator, it told me that the offset cost would be £36. I'm thinking of making the donation.
