Tell a Marketer
Sep. 15th, 2006 08:10 amQuick follow up to yesterday's telemarketer outrage:
appelle who is worldly and wise assures me it wasn't a real telemarketer but a scam operation in an office somewhere. The tip-off, other than the behaviour, was the "press 9 to be connected".
In retrospect, I had the distinct impression I was talking to someone in Tony Soprano's office upstairs at the Bada Bing.

Could pressing 9 automatically be the same as, say, dialing a 976 number?
Theoretically, I was already connected to them, so it would just be a transfer, not a new call, neh?
