With as little commentary as I can:

WEDNESDAY
We arrived at Laguardia around 3:15 and my brother-in-law graciously swung by the airport, relieved us of our measly baggage and drove us to a subway so we could head downtown. We took the F train to 4W and got out in spring beauty of the West Village where we watched guys playing handball in a public court and then walked from Washington Square Park up to Union Square. It was hot! Like in the high 20s or low 30s.

We picked up our tickets for the theatre and then headed up to W47 where we ate at a cute little place with a prix fixe called the Hourglass Cafe. I got stabbed in the mouth by a bristle from a scrubbing brush and the owner, all apologetic, proceeded to offer me dessert and coffee on the house. This was hilarious because they were already included in the prix fixe meal I was eating. Two hands weighing: greed/compassion, greed/compassion.

We headed back to the Little Schubert Theatre and saw Shockheaded Peter which was amazing. The performances and the staging were inventive and beautiful. I also laughed uncontrollably several times and was, maybe for the first time in my life, actually goose-bumpy with a horror during a surreal scary section. Too bad that the well-performed songs by the excellent trio were really repetitive and lacked real melody.

We returned late to Long Island, got a quick tour of my sister's new house and fell into bed.

I'm not doing well with this no commentary stuff!
