redrunner came over last night and I gave her the present that appelle and I bought her and she was happy, too. I have a very ambivalent relationship with mandatory gift-giving. I tend to give people things whenever the mood strikes me and I see something they'd like. I find I really resent being told "this is the day when you must give something! Anything! because they do it on sitcoms. But when I know soemthing that will make someone happy... mmmmm.
The dog and I walked her home via Christie Pits Park so the dog could run around in the snow. He was so happy that I couldn't resist a second descent into the park on the way home. In the 19th century, Christie Pits was an open-pit mine and now it is a wonderful bowl of a park with steep edges that he likes to barrel down at full speed.
His joy and enthusiasm fills me with contentment and love. Even though he chewed the cord off my good headphones this week.
