Way too much digital ink spent yesterday on a comic I don't like. Here, instead, is the most recent comic from Russian LJer [livejournal.com profile] olegti. You should also check out the mysterious and rich images on his website and more of his comic strips posted in [livejournal.com profile] altcomix.

I used the search keyphrase "graphic novel" on the Toronto Public Library catalogue and am now happily reading much for free. Yesterday I picked up my hold on Craig Thompson's lovely and sad Goodbye, Chunky Rice.

Immersing myself in comics art is having a good effect on my visual storytelling, though I miss reading just plain print sometimes. I haven't read a novel since I finished Life of Pi a month ago.

Confession: The previous paragraph was totally included so that non-comics fans among my readers wouldn't think I'm a dweeb. This grade 6 behaviour is brought to you by the makers of Captain Crunch and "yeah, I felt her tits at the party Friday night."
