talktoolooseIt's unnaturally cold out: -22C with a windchill of -33. What is this? Winnipeg? I enjoyed biking in the -10 the other day, but I don't know as I'll even venture out the door today. Although, I'm curious to know how it feels...
Miraculously, I only worked three days this week. When I started my job in 2000, it was agreed I would work 3 days with an occasional fourth. In 2003, I worked only 20 three-day weeks, the others being fours and fives. I have asked that we get that number up to at least 28 this year.
I am supposed to be hard at work on my grand comic scheme and yesterday was to be a writing day, but I spent 2 hours working on my brother-in-law's website, two hours advertizing an event I host bimonthly and four hours working on the details of refinancing our mortgage and setting up a second-mortgage line of credit.
This morning: two hours of pure script writing! I will wag my fingers at the keyboard even when the ideas are slow to come, just as Evelyn Waugh (or was it Henry James?) would sign his name over and over until the first sentence of the day emerged.
I am also having a check-in phone call with my friend, Miniscule. We are supporting each other through the circuitous path of making our dream projects come true. I will post later about the inspiring conversation we had during the holidays.
Now, if the electricity supply can just hold up through the cold snap...

Date: 2004-01-09 10:54 am (UTC)This weather is weird because it's typical Ottawa weather, but I guess it's unusual for Torontonians. When the cold snap hit all I could think was "there, THAT'S what winter is supposed to feel like."
