talktoolooseI’m suddenly moved to post about how my current writing is going. The novel got off a rip-roaring start, and then I ground to a halt, which was partly internal psychodrama, partly health worries, partly work, and partly trip planning. But I realized I needed to re-edit from the beginning, and now I’m caught up again and moving forward.
It’s possible I just needed enough time for the book, its world and its characters to fully settle in my soul. Now I am moving forward and it feels good. The mission of the main character now seems noble to me on many levels, and the characters who appeared only once I started writing them are all growing into full beings demanding their stories be told.
I am also secretly writing a short story for Snake’s birthday... Shh, don’t tell him. I thought up the idea and told it to him, as I sometimes do, and he was so taken with it he said I must write it! He doesn’t really think I will, but I want to now, and present it to him as a lovely little bound book. Oops, November 10 isn’t that far away! I'll try to keep it to about 20,000 words.
