I'm happy.
Right now. I woke up rested, made a good breakfast for everyone (oatmeal with chopped apples, raisins, cinnamon, walnuts and brown sugar) and then, after Snake had left for work and while Br'er Rabbit was spending his usual hour in the bathroom, I sat quietly at the kitchen table reading Maureen McHugh's beautiful novel, Nekropolis, suspended in this delicious crystalline sadness that she evokes so well. I biked to work in the glorious sunshine and now everything is right with the world.
This feeling is rare and will not last, so I am documenting it and broadcasting it and celebrating it.
