Hey, dude, I have this huge temptation to buy up all the new New X-Men stuff. I got intrigued by pages on Scans_Daily and hooked by the issues you lent me. LOL. sucker for teenage hero teams! Runaways! Young Avengers! Titans! Legion!

Do you own all this material or should I just pick up the trades? They're not really expensive. A lot cheaper than the individual issues, actually.

Erm... lessee... I have a couple trades I could lend you (from back when it was New Mutants: Academy X), and then I have issues since... sometime april/may/juneish of 2006? Something like that. I was really sad when they changed the book, because it really sucked at first due to HoM/M-Day angst. And then they killed pretty much everyone except the ones you see today.

Sigh. I'd say... if you are going to purchase as opposed to borrow, then definitely go with the trades. I dunno. Things have gotten much better recently. Actually, the Magik arc was the first one I really enjoyed since before they started slashing and burning characters and turning the book into something it wasn't. I'll do a lend and you can decide for yourself.
