Choosing Your Medium
Jul. 13th, 2009 12:06 pmWow, much as a I love movies, I'm so glad I don't work in that industry.
I'm watching (listening to) a talk on fora.tv with Michael Arndt, screenwriter of Little Miss Sunshine. He's saying that as screenwriter you have to accept that only about 10% of the scripts you write will end up being produced. So, he says, if I write one a year for the next 50 years, that means I will write five produced screenplays and only about two will be good movies.
Thanks, that's a little too wasteful of good creative energy for my taste... I'd rather write to a small audience in a cheap medium and get 80% of it out there.
Fora is an interesting site full of long talks on many subjects from interesting people.
