Money Priorities
May. 6th, 2005 08:59 amI sometimes find myself amazed at what other people spend money on. I was out with a friend yesterday at a restaurant yesterday, gawping at prices that he seems to have no trouble spending. For me, this is an outrage! I'll make the damned thing at home for 1/3 the price!
But, of course, as I was going through these mental coniptions, I was sitting beside the bag from Above Ground Art Supplies containing my new lightbox which I bought entirely without remorse for $60 because I want to experiment with a technique I might, maybe, possibly find useful.
So shut, TTL, and eat the damned $6 bruschetta.
This is also partial response to your queary,
kuriadalmatia, about restaurant recommendations in New York. I dunno, I don't do that much. I like Zen Palate on Union Square a lot and there is a confusing but yummy South American buffet on Dykman kitty corner from some park or other. I also got a great rum ball in a bakery in Grand Central Station. Hope that helps.
But all in all, stacking up piles of comic books and live music DVDs that I often consume only once seems to make more sense to my brain than eating out.
