In the old days, only Batman and Dick Tracy had wireless communication hardware which they used to coordinate their fight on villainy. Batman had an amazing tank of a vehicle which, while costly on fuel, got him there and back and projected an image of threat and power.

Now we all have those amazing cell phones and studly SUVs, but we ignore the signals in the sky. We ignore the calls for help all around us.

Lord! I am finished my week at the office. It's 7p.m. and I still have to do my timesheet, having finished the longest hand-off letter of my life. I'm exhausted. There is nothing on this fine blue ball that could persuade me to take on the job of Production Supervisor which is mine for the asking. Nothing.

Why do people work five days? Rebel, minions! Rebel! And, while you're at it, don't accept two-weeks as your yearly vacation time. That is not a benefit, it is proof of slavery.

I found something to make the job bearable today. I got my Mac to read me X-Men fanfic as I layed out a report. It was just slow enough for me to be able to concentrate on my work and put together the meaning of sentences that were being garbled by Mac speech. When it can't read a word, it spells it. This included a lot of Guthrie's "y'alls".
