I've struggled with shyness myself since I was really little. I'm a lot better today but the more unfamiliar the situation, the easier it is to fall into old patterns. I didn't do too badly at the opening because I was happy to be there and I knew many people. Unfortunately I was a bit distracted because I didn't have a lot of time to spend there because of another commitment.
