Heard on CBC yesterday regarding RIM's auditing improprieties:

"The courts are likely to just give them slap on the wrist. But only a metaphoric one."

Uh, yeah. Thanks for clarifying that.

Bwahahaha! Sort of the opposite of that is the constant comments in news stories here that conviction of Scooter Libby is "an indictment of Dick Cheney." A lot of us would have liked to see an actual indictment of Dick Cheney.

Heh...I'm picturing the RIM corporate team lining up in front of the judge with their wrists out..."Let's take one for the Team, Johnson."

I'm also reminded of the abuse heaped upon the word "literally" when people use it in metaphors. "When I heard about the improprieties, my head literally exploded!"

If only that were true.
