Scarfing

I'll tell you... writing Chapter 10 has been a trip. It's the hardest writing has been in a while. But I'm fighting forward and it will all come together. I believe this. I do.

In the 1970s, in Peanuts, the phrase "scarfing" was used to mean grabbing a bunch of food and gobbling it down. I used it that way in my writing today but decided I should look it up because I haven't heard it outside of Snoopy's mouth since.

Turns out the main meaning is to hang yourself by a scarf around your neck while you jack off. Michael Hutchence, I forgive you for autoerotic asphyxiation, but not for that damn reality show.

Speaking of scarfing, have people seen Life As a House? It masquerades as a Hollywood weepy movie but it's actually got honesty and guts galore including a scarfing scene off the top and Jena Malone being brilliant as usual. Also, the right way to leave your job when they lay you off. The movie almost makes one forgive Hayden for the Star Wars movies.

Forgivance for Episode II and III? That movie must be really good.
Anyway, I'm sure you are doing a great job with chapter ten. Now that I know there is food involved, I've got the highest hopes. Scarfing. Heh!

Hey! That's a Pride and Prejudice icon, right? You're all BBC retro-cool.

I have a file with bits and pieces cut from various chapters. Chapter 10 will provide many additions to this file. I started it off with a great Hank scene that I've cut. Then there's the Ororo and Rahne scene that I've cut. AHHHHH.

Keep writing, keep writing. It will all make sense if you just keep writing...

It is Pride and Prejudice! And I've got another one, too.
On a completely unrelated topic: Your journal journal title (?) is 'Gesamtkuntsgeek'. If the first part is supposed to be German and you mean 'Gesamtkunst' and you've got a st typo in there. I'm sorry if I am getting this wrong, but I couldn't help but notice.
Anyway, your writing will be fine. It is all going to come together in the end.

Good heavens! Thank you; it was a typo.

Although the big KUNT in the middle was kind of funny.

Writing moved along again today. If I can get through this first half of the chapter, I'll be fine. The second half is all SMEX and I know just what to do there.

Seriously? As a user of the magnificent verb of 'to scarf', I'm deeply offended that you think it's that retro! I mean, come on man! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were using it as late as 15 years ago, so it can't be *that* uncool!

:-P

And... that 'main meaning' I have never heard. And... I think I'm now scarred. Asphyxiation is NOT a turn on.

What a pretty icon! What's it from?

Hmm, so TMNT used "scarf" in that sense. Okay. But is Bobby too young for that influence? Did it have traction? My source (re autoerotic asphyxiation) wasn't terribly deep. I will check further.

Wait, are you saying the 70s is retro?! Oh, I guess it is. Never mind. Sigh. I started high school in the 70s, y'know.

Sven de Rennes is an interesting gay artist. Lots of cute pics. I stole that one and iconified it because... well... duh!

You chose the cream of the crop for your icon. He's like Joe Philips (http://www.joephillips.com/) but less multi-cultural and not as good an artist.

*sigh* and another UTOPIAN vision of the future with no trees in it.

I once had sex with a guy who liked me to choke him while we were doing it. It was interesting. Not a turn-off, not a turn-on.
