Weekend Recap
Feb. 5th, 2007 03:40 pmI got better in 24 hours, as predicted by motherficcers. I have remained tired since then and napped well on the weekend, but still had fun.
I wrote both days (got to the end of Chapter 9. One more read-through and off to the betas). On Saturday night, we watched The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada which was directed by and starred Tommy Lee Jones. It's the story of an illegal immigrant from Mexico who is accidentally killed by a nervous young border patrolman. The Mexican's cowboy friend, Tommy Lee, kidnaps the patrolman and makes him travel with him and the corpse by horseback into Mexico to find his hometown and bury him there. I recommend it quite highly. It was charming, funny sad and true and showed us that everyone's life is lonely, but we do what we can to find love and solace. Great small roles by Dwight Yoakam (who is funny, believe it or not!) and Levon Helm, drummer of the Band, who must be a million years old. (Correction, he's only 64. They aged him terrifyingly).
Sunday morning, we went to the museum and enjoyed the Japanese art and artifacts for an hour. I so want to go back to Japan and see more than Tokyo. Also, our museum memberships were a brilliant idea.
That's all. As you were. I'm glad Joey's not dead, I'm sorry Seth Fisher is.
