talktoolooseWe watched the American version of The Ring last night, having seen a pirate copy of the Japanese version a few months ago. Snake claims there is also a Korean version, but I think he's confused.

Surprise, surprise. The American version was much more coherent, atmospheric and well-shot than the original. My favourite thing about it was the way it undercut the happy, liberal ending. Just because Samara was finally given some graveside luvin' didn't erase the evil that had been done to her. And she will demand her story be told again and again until the end of the world on pain of death! That's what I call keeping your cause top-of-mind in the media.
