Title: Days of Becoming, Chapter 36: “The Last Flowers of Fall (X3)”
Author: Talktooloose
’Verse: X-Men movieverse
Betas:
mofic and
lux_apollo. Thank you for canon warnings and a million details.
Disclaimers: Marvel and 20th Century own the X-Men, I own my original characters. Ownership is illusion.
Series Summary: This novel focuses mainly on the paths Iceman and Pyro take on their way to adulthood and how they discover and deal with their love for each other. It is a novel about what Joni Mitchell calls ”the dream's malfunction” and how we can learn to make our own dreams when our heroes fail us. Other X characters (including ones from comicverse and elsewhere) and OC's play prominent roles and the action begins before X1, continues through the events of X2 and X3 and concludes in the aftermath of that movie. This novel does not take X-Men Origins: Wolverine as canon.
Previously, in Days of Becoming: Mike Haddad has long left the school, but his efforts on behalf of mutants go on. John Allerdyce has little time to think about his novel, which is being read online all over the world. With Mystique in custody, he is Magneto's right-hand man, and the great man has great plans. Jubilee, out of action as a New X-men due to a broken leg, has been following the arrest of an Asian gang leader in Los Angeles, one she seems to remember from her childhood in the house of her dead parents. Scott Summers has jumped on his bike and gone to find out why his dead lover, Jean Grey, is still calling him.
I LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. Please use the comments link at the end of the chapter to bring you back here or drop me email to talktooloose CAT toothdemon FRAUGHT net. That oughta fool the spambots for now.

Date: 2009-09-29 02:56 pm (UTC)I tweaked Callisto so she's more on edge than nervous. That better?
As to adding a canon mutant doctor into the mix? No thanks.

Date: 2009-09-29 06:07 pm (UTC)I liked what you did to Callisto. It works very well, dude. I'm totally okay with you leaving things the way they were with the doctor. It was just me being picky with one of my own little ticks.

Date: 2009-09-27 12:55 pm (UTC)The way you potray the problems for the mutants is so real, I get so angry at all the people who doesn't understand that they are humans like everyone else.. It's like how people act towards gay people, it's bloody brilliant! (Your wtiting, not the way the people act :P)

Date: 2009-09-29 12:30 am (UTC)I don't read a lot of Movieverse fic, largely because I got tired of the "poor, tortured Rogue" stories. Not that I don't feel for her, just - it's been done. Over, and over, and over.
I do, however, love St. John, so I figured I'd give this a try. It's taken me the better part of a month, but I'm FINALLY caught up!
Only problem? I want the next chapter now, please? Because I absolutely love what you've done with this, and want to know what happens next!

Date: 2009-10-31 07:53 am (UTC)I love the way you're handling the characters, with all the confusion of powers, hormones, relationships, school and politics. It's super well-grounded and really fun (if sometimes heartbreaking) to read.
I'm excited to read the rest of this, and I'm really looking forward to reading your upcoming novel :)

Date: 2009-10-31 02:02 pm (UTC)I'm excited about the upcoming novel, though somewhat trepidatious. I will create some kind of secure email sign-up form at the end of Days of Becoming to keep future readers informed.
Thanks again.

Date: 2009-11-01 03:23 pm (UTC)I have just read all through all chapters and had to tell you that I love this story. The love between Bobby and John is so strong and beautiful, and it' so sad of course that they cant be on the same page at the same time.
Love
Johan
