The Most Serene Republic

talktoolooseThis is mostly a reminder to myself. I just discovered a very cool band from Milton, Ontario called "The Most Serene Republic" and I like their music a lot.
If you are interested in pursuing this memo, go to cbc.ca/radio3 and do a search for the band. There are about 9 tunes up there. They remind me a bit of Arcade Fire, but there is something of XTC and Squeeze in there, too.
CBC Radio 3 is a great place to go in general.
Stop Stephen Harper from destroying the CBC! Well, okay, we can do without most of CBC TV...
But CBC Radio and the website are maybe the only things that actually define this country as a single entity instead of a dysfunctional, inefficient trading block.

Date: 2009-09-02 06:24 am (UTC)I'm glad you like them. I've been enjoying them for a few years now. We should have a music chat sometime soon, since some interests of yours seem to be intersecting with interests of mine fairly frequently lately.
Also, I may be in Toronto the weekend before and/or after my trip to Nebraska from the 28th to Oct 2. Maybe we can meet up for a Flintstones style gay old time. Or something. Sorry, I'm being wierd tonight, LOL.
