LJ Morbidity
Mar. 18th, 2008 01:32 pmHave you ever tracked an LJ death? I've never directly known anyone on LJ who has died, but every time I hear about one in an extended flist network or a community, I can't stop myself going back and reading through their last months, their profile, their flist's reaction, etc.
Sometimes they are half of an LJ couple and I get sucked into reading the grieving partner's blog both leading up to and after the death.
The lastest was a gay couple in Australia who have several kids. The one who died (at 30! after a brief illness) was actually from Vancouver but had moved to Oz with his partner where they'd started their family.
I guess it's because I'm so used to inferring the lives behind the minutiae of LJ entries that I find LJ death so poignant and obsessively interesting.
