(no subject)
Nov. 26th, 2010 09:26 amAfter a month on the beta blocker Metoprilol, my cardiologist has switched me to the calcium channel blocker, Diltiazem. Right away, I feel better. I think the beta blocker was interacting with my low level asthma to leave me short of breath even when not fibrillating.
I am keeping a journal of the results of the new meds. Still fibrillating basically half the time, but yesterday I was able to bike around, go for three walks, etc. even in atrial fibrillation. Is that the meds? Hard to know! The problem with medication is how hard it makes it to distinguish outcomes from causes; there are so many factors to consider: subjective experience, objective results, weather, stress. How do you know what is the cause of what?
Anyway, boring. I'm feeling good. I'll post about therapy-related topics when I feel like it. That's going well, too.
Also, YOU! I can't stop thinking about your body. That is all.
(Changing the name of my journal now, from "Beta Blogger" to "Calcium Channel Blogger")
