Fall on Your Knees
Aug. 3rd, 2005 03:25 pmThe vacation (six nights in a canoe-site in Algonquin) was heaven. Of course, we started off very badly with some piss-poor organization up front that left us without a stove for the first night and would have left Snake with no long pants if I hadn't packed two pairs for myself.
( What all did ya do there? )
As we unpacked the rent-a-car I had the surreal experience of seeing my neighbour's door open and
appelle pop her head out. That's because she,
snowmit and
spizzy have moved in across the road! The good times are about to multiply.
I returned from the bush de-stressed but a horrible sinking depression descended on me yesterday at work and I think I know what it's all about and I will have to start dealing. BUT! There is a cure for depression:
PHYSICAL INJURY!!!
My right knee has been bugging me since last August and it's been clicky and wonky in the last month. Last night, I was on the floor brushing the cat and, as I got up, the knee gave out on me and I swear there was a tearing sound.
At the moment I cannot put any weight on it nor straighten it out. The doctor thinks my cartilege is torn up and he has put me on anti-inflammatory drugs to chill it out in the hopes that I have some kind of normal mobility in a couple of weeks. We await an appointment with an orthopaedic specialist.
appelle! Thanks for your crutches! Did you know I have them? Now you do! Oh, and Anne returned the tin snips.
Did everyone know that
appelle and I are going to quit our jobs and become storm chasers? Be jealous.
