Days of Becoming, Chapter 29
Title: Days of Becoming, Chapter 29 - “Invasion (X2)”
Author: Talktooloose
'Verse: X-Men movieverse
Warnings: Violence, swearing, unseemly behavior, inappropriate nostalgia
Betas:
mofic and
lux_apollo. Thanks for suffering through two drafts. Read their fic.
Disclaimers: Marvel and 20th Century own the X-Men, I own my original characters, and we have joint custody of the children.
Series Summary: This novel focuses mainly on the paths Iceman and Pyro take on their way to adulthood and how they discover and deal with their love for each other. It is a novel about what Joni Mitchell calls ”the dream's malfunction” and how we can learn to make our own dreams when our heroes fail us. Other X characters (including ones from comicverse and elsewhere) and OC's play prominent roles and the action begins before X1, continues through the events of X2 and X3 and concludes in the aftermath of that movie.
Previously in Days of Becoming: John's life is a noisy mess. His boyfriend (whose life is a quiet mess) has left him for a girl, he has grown disillusioned with his dream of being a writer, and he teeters on the brink of expulsion from Xavier's school. Just when he thinks life can't get any worse, he is confronted in the mansion, in the middle of the night by a commando, aiming a gun his way.
I LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. Please use the comments link at the end of the chapter to bring you back here or drop me email to talktooloose CAT toothdemon FRAUGHT net. That oughta fool the spambots for now.

Yeah...So the whole shebang then. Combines aspects of the Ultimate verse with Movieverse Jean. I liked it.
I like this look at what the kids were doing while the events of the movie were taking place, and Kitty's certainty that her parents were right, that the Gestapo had come after all to take them. Poor girl. Going to be working this shit out for the rest of her life.
And they shoulda gone to Haddad's. lol. Stupid Drake. Really stupid.
"Oh you'll love my folks! They're great!"
Right.
lol.

I'm expecting objections from the anti-space-Phoenix people. One of my betas, in fact, hates the idea of space-Phoenix. But I'm having fun and it works for me in light of X3. I can't see that being just Jean.
Thanks for the Kitty love, too. Heh, she has some more surprises coming up, too.
Lol, yeah, shoulda gone to Haddad's! What's funny is that Bobby's assumption that Mrs. Haddad hates him is really unfounded. It's all based on a glare or two during the meeting in Xavier's office. Oh, Bobby!

There's also lots of horizontal action in 30!
